Beyond the Yellow Pale: Essays and Criticism
Price: $69.95

Beyond the Yellow Pale: Essays and Criticism, a collection of academic, literary and critical essays, by Ouyang Yu, is soon to be published in Melbourne, Australia. It collects writings he wrote in recent years, some of which were published in academic and literary journals in the English speaking world. The collection contains writings on his travels in the USA, China and New Zealand. There are articles discussing issues of autobiography and literary censorship as well as problems of belonging in multicultural Australia; there are writings on poetry related to Ouyang’s personal experience as a poet, going back to the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and 1970s China; and there are also interviews with Ouyang by a number of people from different linguistic, cultural and literary backgrounds.
